(Columbus, OH – August 23, 2012) – The Board of Directors of the Central Ohio Workforce Investment Corporation (COWIC) has elected Diversified Systems Executive Archie Williamson to serve as chair, which carries a 2 year term. Williamson succeeds Jeffrey Copeland, former Chairman/CEO of Elford, Inc. who served as board chair since 2010.

“As Chairman, my main objective will be to continue to promote COWIC’s initiatives on local and national levels as well as our services to employers,” Williamson said after receiving the honor.

COWIC’s board, whose members are appointed by the chief elected officials of the local workforce development area, Mayor Michael B. Coleman and the Franklin County Commissioners, sets overall policy and direction for the organization and its programs and provides guidance to COWIC’s leadership. Williamson has been on COWIC’s board since he was appointed by Franklin County in 2009.

“Archie understands where COWIC is going and, as Chairman, he will bring a passion for innovation that will strengthen our organization’s impact on the community,” said COWIC President and CEO Suzanne Coleman-Tolbert. “We are fortunate to have someone of his caliber leading our Board. “

A graduate of the University of Toledo with a degree in computer systems and Northwestern’s Kellogg Advanced Management Executive program, Williamson held numerous Information Technology positions before establishing Diversified Systems Consultants in 1990. The company provides management and information systems consulting services for Fortune 1000 businesses and federal, state, and local government agencies throughout Ohio. Williamson is a founding member of The Black Data Processing Association, Columbus Chapter and also serves on the Increase Community Development Corporation Board of Directors as Treasurer.
